Two English pairs have qualified for the women's doubles last 16 at the Commonwealth Games, but Joanna Parker and Kelly Sibley have been knocked out of the singles.
Parker and Sibley teamed together to beat Jamaica duo Shenique Clare and Yvonne Foster in a three-sets victory which took them only 13 minutes.
Karina Le Fevre and her 15-year-old partner Tin Tin Ho also progressed courtesy of a second-round walkover.
However, Parker and Sibley did not enjoy such good fortune as individuals, with the former going down 4-1 to Naomi Owen of Wales in the third round and her doubles companion losing to Ye Lin of Singapore by the same scoreline.
The women's doubles continues in Glasgow on Friday.
