It was a mixed day for ParalympicGB's table tennis players in the preliminary rounds of the men's and women's tournaments in all classes.
In the men's class 8, Aaron McKibbin lost both his matches and has been knocked out of the competition. He lost 3-2 to Mathieu Loicq and 3-0 to Sun Churen.
Sara Head won her first game against South Korean Hyun Ja 3-2 to make a good start to her group in class 3.
David Wetherill beat Italian Alecci Raimondo in the men's class 6 to make it through to the next preliminary round, 3-2.
Sue Gilroy put in a very impressive performance in class 4, beating Fadia Ahmed of Egypt 3-0.
Victoria Bromley is out of the class 11 competition having lost comfortably 3-0 to Anzhelika Kosachenka.
Scott Robertson did not make an ideal start to his campaign and was beaten 3-1 by Cao Ningning of China in the fifth class.
Finally, William Bayley beat Yuttama Namsaga soundly in his opening encounter 3-0 to give him confidence ahead of his next match.
