British number one Cameron Norrie saw his short-lived ATP Finals stint come to an end with a straight sets defeat to Novak Djokovic.

The Indian Wells Masters champion - who was called up following Stefanos Tsitsipas's injury - previously let victory against Casper Ruud slip through his grasp before being swept aside by Djokovic.

Norrie's serve was broken in the first game of the first set following a double fault, and Djokovic recorded a double break in the fifth game to storm to a 6-2 first-set win.

Lightning struck twice for the Brit in the first game of the second set as Djokovic broke his serve to take control, and the Serbian ended with five breaks to his name in a resounding 6-2 6-1 success.

A pair of double faults proved costly for Norrie on the night, and the 26-year-old only won 35% of his second serve points compared to Djokovic's 78%.

Djokovic will now prepare to meet Alexander Zverev in Saturday night's semi-final, with Ruud and Daniil Medvedev set for battle at lunchtime in the other semi-final showdown. body check tags ::
