Former world number one Roger Federer believes that he is currently playing his best tennis of the calendar year.
The 30-year-old was speaking after he got his ATP World Tour Finals campaign off to a winning start against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in London earlier today.
"Jo-Wilfried served well in the second set and it was hard to control the rallies at the baseline," Federer told BBC Sport.
"But I think this is the best I've played all year. It helped that I had some good time off before playing great at Basel and Paris."
Federer recently beat Frenchman Tsonga to claim the Paris Masters title for the first time in his career.
