Victoria Azarenka has revealed that she was involved in a bizarre incident at the Australian Open earlier this week that saw her struggle to make it past tight security.
The top seed said that she was initially denied access at Melbourne Park before pointing to a poster with her face on as proof of her identity.
She told reporters: "The other day I was walking in and the security guy said: 'Have you got your pass'?
"There was my picture so I said, 'There is my pass, there it is'. Those pictures are going to be here for a while, that's a great feeling to have."
The 23-year-old made quick work of her opening-round match earlier today, beating Monica Niculescu in straight sets to progress safely to round two.
