Tomas Berdych has said that his victory over Jurgen Melzer was "not an easy one", despite winning in straight sets in the second round of the Australian Open.
Berdych came through the match 7-6 6-2 6-2 against his Austrian opponent, but he says that the contest was much harder than it looked.
"The whole match was not an easy one. He was playing very smart. His gameplan was actually good to go. But after the first set I find the way how to deal with that, how to handle it, and even though I was a set break down, I managed to come back and play some good tennis," he told reporters.
Berdych will now meet Victor Troicki in the next round, after he beat Leonardo Mayer.
