Andy Murray has jumped to the defence of his fiancee Kim Sears after she was captured on camera venting her frustration in an expletive-ridden outburst at the Australian Open.
Sears appeared to say, "fucking have that you Czech flash fuck" after Murray broke back in the first set against Tomas Berdych before eventually securing a four-set victory in the semi-final.
In response to the alleged comments, Murray told reporters: "When there's a lot of tension surrounding something, which [the media] created, then it's completely normal."
The Scotsman also alluded to the possible tension for coach Dani Vallverdu, who now works with Berdych after he left Murray's coaching team back in November.
"The whole first set everyone was tight," added Murray. "My physical trainer, physio, I'm sure for Dani it was uncomfortable. Even Tomas, who very rarely says anything on the court, there was tension there for him, as well. In the heat of the moment you can say stuff that you regret. That's it."
Murray will take on either Novak Djokovic or defending champion Stanislas Wawrinka in the final.
