Andy Murray will meet Dutch world number 50 Robin Haase in the first round of the Australian Open.
The draw for the season-opening Grand Slam was made in Melbourne on Friday.
US Open champion Murray has won one and lost one of his previous two encounters with the 25-year-old.
The Brit is joined in the bottom half of the draw by Roger Federer and Juan Martin del Potro.
Four-time winner Federer will meet Frenchman Benoit Paire, while Del Potro has been handed a tie against a qualifier.
Defending champion Novak Djokovic will face France's Paul-Henri Mathieu and fourth seed David Ferrer, who is on the same half of the draw as the world number one, has been paired with a qualifier.
The Australian Open starts at Melbourne Park on Monday.
