Andy Murray has admitted that he uses criticism as motivation as he prepares to compete in the Australian Open.
The British number one, who has reached at least the semi-final stage of all four major competitions, has been accused of failing to have mental strength to cope with the pressure.
"I've got used to the fact that people want to take apart my game," Murray told The Telegraph. "They ask whether I work hard enough, whether psychologically I'm strong enough, and it's something that motivates me to improve and to prove people wrong. That's what I plan on doing this year.
"I work on every part of my game, psychological, mental, physical and technical. I always try to make improvements and I think that's something people should try to understand. I invite anyone to come and watch me train, see the stuff I do on a daily basis, and decide for themselves whether I get the most out of my game."
Murray has been drawn American pro Ryan Harrison in the first round of the tournament in Melbourne.
