Maria Sharapova has revealed that she was pleased with her performance in her straight-sets win over Eugenie Bouchard in the quarter-finals of the Australian Open.
The number two seed powered to victory over the Canadian to seal her place in the last four of the competition as she controlled the last-eight match in the Rod Laver Arena.
"I thought I had a really good start," Sharapova told reporters. "I kept my focus throughout the whole match. I didn't feel that I had too many letdowns, which is important.
"When I did have a few slips I was able to come out with great first serves or really powerful returns."
Sharapova will take on fellow Russian Ekaterina Makarova in the semi-finals of the competition.
