World number one Novak Djokovic has advanced into round three of the Australian Open after a 6-3 6-2 6-1 victory over Santiago Giraldo.
The Serbian broke three times in the first to secure the set 6-3, before breaking twice in the second to move into a comfortable two-set lead.
The reigning Australian Open champion displayed his improved serving ability with some powerful strokes as Giraldo, who reached the quarter finals in Brisbane earlier in the month, failed to influence the match.
Djokovic secured the third in comfortable style and he will face the winner of Nicolas Mahut's match with Tatsuma Ito.
Djokovic is the clear favourite to retain his title in Melbourne.
