Roger Federer has progressed to the fourth round of the Australian Open with a straight-sets victory over Teymuraz Gabashvili.
The former world number one got the better of his Russian opponent 6-2 6-2 6-3 in the third round at the Rod Laver Arena on Saturday.
Federer was always in control of the contest and wrapped up the first set in just over 30 minutes, winning 95 points in the process.
The pattern was the same in the second set, which the Swiss won 6-2 again, committing just four unforced errors.
The third set appeared destined to finish 6-2 in favour of Federer as well, but Gabashvili made it 5-3.
However, that could only delay the inevitable for a few minutes as Federer won the set 6-3 to continue his march in Melbourne.
