Great Britain's Naomi Broady will not feature in the main draw of the Australian Open following her 6-3 2-6 6-3 defeat at the hands of Alize Lim in the first round of qualifying.
Broady, who is ranked 112th in the world, beat former French Open champion Ana Ivanovic in Auckland last week, but she was unable to continue that good form against her French opponent.
The 25-year-old Brit struggled with her ball toss throughout the contest, which in turn saw her commit 10 double faults.
Broady was able to level the match up at one set apiece, yet it was world number 166 Lim that eventually wrapped up the victory in one hour and 53 minutes.
