Agnieszka Radwanska has booked her place in the second round of the Australian Open by overcoming Yulia Putintseva 6-0 5-7 6-2 in Melbourne.
The Polish pro started strongly at the Hisense Arena by securing three aces and as many break points in the opening set, while Putintseva failed to get a game on the board.
Despite a flawless start, Radwanska faced a challenge in the second set as Putintseva managed to hold her serve well and eventually snatch two break points to draw level on the court.
Following a slight wobble, Radwanska was back on form by snatching 12 winners and breaking her opponent three times during the set to seal a place in the next round.
