Milos Raonic has grabbed a place in the third round of the Australian Open with a 7-6(9) 6-4 6-4 win over Victor Hanescu in Melbourne.
It was a battling first set between the competitors with both strong on their service games, which eventually pushed the opening set into a tie-break.
Eventually, Raonic managed to edge it 11-7 to take the lead, and continued to dominate in the second set until play was suspended due to thunder and lightning in Melbourne.
Once the players returned to the court, Raonic managed to wrap up the second set, leaving Hanescu with a mountain to climb.
However, Raonic was able to keep his composure and grab a vital break point to push on and win the match.
