Serena Williams has progressed to the second round of the Australian Open with a straight-sets victory over Edina Gallovits-Hall.
The American third seed won the contest 6-0 6-0 in less than an hour despite struggling with an ankle injury.
Williams hurt her right ankle when she fell awkwardly to the ground after 19 minutes when she was leading 4-0 in the first set.
After getting treatment from the courtside WTA trainer, the 31-year-old returned to action and won the next four points before holding serve to win the opening set.
Williams continued to dominate the second set and won it 6-0 with ease, allowing her Romanian opponent to win just six points.
