Juan Martin Del Potro believes that he is ready for the US Open, which begins later this month.
The 22-year-old Argentinian exited the Western & Southern Open yesterday after a straight-sets 6-3 7-5 defeat to Roger Federer in Ohio.
Despite being knocked out in the second round, Del Potro has insisted that he is now free from injury and ready to compete in the Grand Slam event in New York.
"I'm much better than I expected to be at this stage. I don't have any pain, no dangerous pain. My wrist is okay and I can play on every surface," said the world number 19.
"It is not easy for me but I'm close to what is my favourite tournament and I will be ready for a fight in New York."
Del Potro triumphed at Flushing Meadows two years ago, defeating Federer in the final over five sets.
