Richard Gasquet moved into the quarter-finals of the Cincinnati Open with a straight-sets victory over Marin Cilic tonight.
The Frenchman needed less than two hours to book a last-eight spot with a 7-5 6-3 win over his Croatian counterpart.
The world number 13 drew first blood at the end of the opening set with a timely break of serve - the first of the match - to edge ahead.
The duo took turns with losing their service game as Gasquet led 4-3 in the second set, before pulling out another break in the eighth game en route to victory.
Gasquet could face Andy Murray, who faces Grigor Dimitrov in the third round later today.
