Fourth seed Simona Halep has claimed that she "dominated" Sloane Stephens during her fourth-round win over the American at the French Open.
The Romanian, who is the highest seed left in the women's draw at Roland Garros, beat Stephens 6-4 6-3 on Monday.
Halep will now face Svetlana Kuznetsova or Lucie Safarova for a spot in the semi-finals.
"I think I managed very well the match," she is quoted as saying by The Guardian. "I opened the angles. I wanted to make her run a lot on court. I think I played aggressive. I dominated the match, I think. I didn't serve very well but I tried to return better and I did."
Halep had never got beyond the second round of the French Open before this year's tournament.
