Roberto Bautista Agut has kicked off his French Open campaign with a comfortable straight-sets win over Florian Mayer in Paris.
The number 19 seed produced a dominant display to see off his opponent 6-3 6-1 6-3 to advance through at Roland Garros.
A loss of serve early in the first set from the Spaniard gave Mayer some hope, but he managed to keep his composure to take the opener with two breaks of his own.
It was plain sailing in the second as Bautista Agut, who faced a shock second-round exit at the Italian Open earlier this month, proved too strong for his 526th ranked opponent, and it was a similar case in the third set despite him wasting three points to win the contest.
