Grigor Dimitrov has suffered a shock first-round exit at the French Open at the hands of Ivo Karlovic.
The ninth seed was brushed aside by the big-serving Croatian, losing the one-sided encounter in straight sets.
World number 37 Karlovic claimed the opening set 6-4 before he took control by winning the second 7-5 against the under-par Bulgarian.
Dimitrov failed to combat Karlovic in the third, and he was eventually seen off 6-4 7-5 7-4 after a tie-break.
The former Wimbledon quarter-finalist will now take on either Austria's Andreas Haider-Maurer or German Daniel Brands.
