World number one Novak Djokovic has made the semi-finals of the 2016 French Open after beating Tomas Berdych 6-3 7-5 6-3 in Thursday afternoon's last-eight clash.
Rain interrupted play in the third set, but the weather did not dampen Djokovic's performance as the Serbian won in straight sets to set up a semi-final with either Dominic Thiem or David Goffin.
The first set remained on serve until 3-3, when Djokovic secured a break before holding to move 5-3 ahead. A second break of the Berdych serve then arrived as Djokovic moved one set ahead.
Berdych recovered from 3-0 down in the second set to level at 5-5, but it was Djokovic that came through once again, taking a two-set lead after breaking his Czech opponent for the second time in the set.
Rain interrupted play at 4-3 Djokovic in the third set, but Berdych never recovered from the break as he lost his second service game of the set, before the 29-year-old served it out to secure a spot in the final four.
Djokovic has reached three of the last four finals at the French Open, but lost out to Stanislas Wawrinka last year.
