Novak Djokovic has powered into the French Open quarter-finals with a resounding straight-sets win over Richard Gasquet.
The world number one will meet defending champion Rafael Nadal in the last eight at Roland Garros.
Djokovic landed the first blow in a mammoth third game as he broke Gasquet at the eighth time of asking. The Serb went from strength to strength after that, overwhelming the Frenchman to take it 6-1.
The two-time finalist was just as clinical in the second, brushing the world number 21 aside 6-2 to gain firm control of the match.
An exchange of breaks in the third hinted at a fightback from Gasquet, but Djokovic dug in to get himself 5-3 in front before serving out the one-sided contest 6-1 6-2 6-3.
