Roger Federer has booked his place in the French Open quarter-finals thanks to a four-set triumph over Gael Monfils.
Play resumed between the pair on Monday after bad light forced them to abandon their match at one set apiece the previous night.
When the contest got back underway Federer was quickly out of the blocks, breaking early before taking the third set 6-4 in clinical fashion.
World number 14 Monfils struggled to recapture the form that had seen him through the opening three rounds of the tournament as Federer kept him under control with some devastating tennis.
The Swiss broke twice in the fourth set to take a commanding 4-1 lead, and from there he held serve before breaking again to clinch a 6-3 4-6 6-4 6-1 victory, setting up a quarter-final clash with fellow countryman Stanislas Wawrinka.
