Ernests Gulbis booked his place in round three of the French Open this afternoon courtesy of a 6-2 7-5 6-0 victory over Facundo Bagnis.
World number 17 Gulbis took control of the opening set early on and following two breaks of Bagnis's serve, he was able to wrap it up in just 31 minutes.
The second set was much more of an even contest, but a late break of serve from Gulbis saw Argentina's Bagnis lose out 7-5.
It was a blow that appeared to hamper Bagnis during the third set, as he made a handful of unforced errors which helped Gulbis to put six games in succession on the board.
The Latvian will now take on the winner of Mikhail Youzhny vs. Radek Stepanek for a place in the fourth round.
