Juan Monaco will face Rafael Nadal in the last 16 of the French Open after overcoming Milos Raonic over five sets.
After both men had convincingly held serve six times, Raonic took the opening set 7-5 in a tie-break.
Monaco then won the second set with a solitary break of serve before Raonic claimed the third set in exactly the same manner as he had won the first.
The Argentine, who staved off eight break points to avoid dropping serve once in the whole match, then claimed two breaks of his own to seal the 6-7 6-3 6-7 6-3 6-4 win in just over four and a half hours.
