Sara Errani booked her place in the quarter-finals of the French Open this afternoon thanks to a 7-6 6-2 victory over Jelena Jankovic.
A former semi-finalist at Roland Garros, Jankovic broke early on and went on to have two opportunities to serve out to take the first set, but she failed to make the most of either of them.
As a result, the set went into a tie-break, which Errani claimed with a 7-5 success.
The world number 11 then continued that domination in the second set as she broke Jankovic on two occasions to wrap up the victory in two hours.
Errani will now face Germany's Andrea Petkovic for a place in the last four.
