Kevin Anderson blasted his way through to the third round of the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells with a comfortable 7-5 6-4 win over Federico Delbonis.
The South African hit 10 aces on his way to victory, which means that he is well prepared for his clash with either John Isner or Jurgen Melzer in the next round.
Anderson and Delbonis traded heavy blows in the opening set before the former upped his game as it drifted towards a tie-break.
He secured a crucial break of serve and clinched the first set 7-5.
The 16th seed earned an early break in the second set and some powerful hitting kept Delbonis at bay as he held serve comfortably, with a fine forehand down the line confirming the straight-sets victory.
