David Goffin has eased into the semi-finals at Indian Wells with a straight-sets victory over former US Open champion Marin Cilic tonight.
Nothing could separate the duo after the first eight games of the opening set as both players rattled off four games apiece, with Cilic's serve looking particularly impressive.
Goffin made inroads towards a one-set lead by breaking the Croat to move 5-4 ahead, before Cilic returned the favour in the next game as a tie-break beckoned.
There, the Belgian broke the 27-year-old twice in the tie-break, winning 7-4 to draw first blood in the match, before going on to win the second set 6-2 as Cilic's resolve waned.
Goffin, who defeated Stanislas Wawrinka in the previous round, will face either Milos Raonic or Gael Monfils in the last four.
