Heather Watson's run at the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells has come to an end after the British number one was beaten 7-6 3-6 6-1 by Carla Suarez Navarro in the fourth round this evening.
The Spaniard had to come from a break down in the first set, but had the momentum going into the tie-break, and managed to edge ahead.
Watson responded well though, getting another early break on the board in the second as Suarez Navarro struggled with her returns, while a string of unforced errors allowed the Briton to level the match.
With the match heading into a third hour, Watson appeared to tire early in the third, leaving the world number 13 to surge ahead, taking five games in a row to seal the victory.
The 12th seed will face the winner of the match between Simona Halep and Karolina Pliskova in the last eight.
