Novak Djokovic has admitted that he is "very pleased" to have won the Italian Open having beaten Roger Federer in the final earlier today.
The world number one beat the Swiss 6-4 6-3, securing the Rome title for the fourth time in his career.
"So far, this is the best season of my life. I don't know how it will go at Roland Garros, but I'm very confident. I'm playing with great joy and concentration and I hope to continue," BBC Sport quotes the Serb as saying.
"This has been a very exciting week and today was my best match. It's always a big challenge to play Roger and obviously I'm very pleased."
The French Open, which is the only Grand Slam event that Djokovic has never won, gets underway next Monday.
