Agnieszka Radwanska has reached the third round of the Italian Open by seeing off Paula Ormaechea 6-3 6-2 in Rome.
The Polish pro, who missed out on a place in the Madrid Open final last week, grabbed the first break of serve to take the opening set to 3-1.
Ormaechea came close to holding her serve, but lost out on an advantage point, which kept her on the back foot for the remainder of the set.
The 21-year-old suffered an early blow by losing her serve in the opening game of the second set, but she tried to bounce back by pushing Radwanska to the limit in the next game. However, the Pole pro was able to hold.
From that point on, games went by the way of serve until Radwanska was able to grab another crucial break and then wrap up the contest.
