Rafael Nadal has revealed that he is confident that he will be fit to defend his Olympic gold medal later this month.
The world number two's participation at the event, which is being held at Wimbledon, had been thrown into doubt following revelations that he is suffering tendinitis in his knee.
However, the Spaniard has insisted that he is doing everything possible to ensure that he is ready for the Games.
"I was with my doctors on Monday and started already my treatment with the goal to be ready for the Olympic Games and represent Spain once again," he told reporters.
Nadal recently exited Wimbledon at the round two stage following a defeat to world number 100 Lukas Rosol.
