Tommy Haas has pulled out of the upcoming Monte Carlo Masters in order to recover from his recent schedule.
The 35-year-old German is the second player to withdraw in as many days following David Ferrer's announcement that he would not be competing because of injury.
World number 56 Ernests Gulbis will replace Haas in the main draw of the tournament.
The third Masters 1000 event of the season gets underway on Sunday.
