Grigor Dimitrov booked his place in round two of the Monte Carlo Masters this afternoon courtesy of a 6-2 4-6 6-2 victory over Marcel Granollers.
Bulgaria's Dimitrov went into the contest having lost both of his previous matches against his Spanish counterpart, but he claimed the opening set in just 34 minutes.
Granollers responded, though, to force a deciding set with a 6-4 success in the second rubber.
However, world number 14 rallied from that disappointment as he broke on two separate occasions to secure his spot in the next round.
He will now face Albert Ramos, with the winner advancing through to the last 16 of the competition.
