Rafael Nadal is through to the quarter-finals of the Monte Carlo Masters after progressing past Philipp Kohlschreiber in straight sets.
The Spaniard, who is looking for his 10th triumph at this tournament, never looked in trouble in recording a 6-2 6-4 victory.
Nadal coasted through the opener, looking solid on his serve and taking two of his five break-point opportunities.
Kohlschreiber put up more of a fight in the second set, taking Nadal to 3-3, but the world number five struck on his first chance to break serve for 4-3.
That broke the spirit of the number 16 seed, and he could do nothing to prevent Nadal setting up a last-eight clash with either Grigor Dimitrov or Florian Mayer.
