Rafael Nadal has survived a comeback by Jo-Wilfried Tsonga to secure a place in the Monte Carlo Masters final.
The two players were well matched at the start of the the first set, but the Spaniard was able to break his opponent when leading 4-3, allowing him to serve out the set.
Nadal looked unstoppable at the start of the second set, securing two early break to race to a 5-1 lead, but the Frenchman put up some resistance, winning four games in a row to level the set, eventually taking the set to a tie-break.
After sharing the opening six points, the third seed dug deep to take four in a row, ensuring that he progresses to the final in straight sets.
The 26-year-old will face either Novak Djokovic and Fabio Fognini in tomorrow's final.
