Former world number four James Blake has confirmed that he will retire after this year's US Open.
The 33-year-old American turned professional in 1999 but broke his neck five years later before suffering a number of further injuries.
"No real surprise here, this is my last tournament," a teary Blake told reporters. "I had 14 pretty good darn years on tour."
Blake, who is currently ranked 100th in the world, has won a total of 10 singles titles during his career.
