Former world number three Nikolay Davydenko has called time on his tennis career at the age of 33.
The Russian pro has struggled with numerous injury struggles in recent times and has not played on the ATP Tour since the French Open in May.
"Unfortunately, for some years now, I have been struggling with injuries," he announced this afternoon. "It's hard for me to talk about it. I have been thinking when to announce it. The time has come. I have my whole life to live. I officially announce my retirement from professional tennis."
Davydenko won 21 tour titles in his career, although he never managed to reach the final of a Grand Slam.
