Novak Djokovic has been named sportsman of the year at the Laureus World Sports Awards in London.
The Serb took the title following a year in which he won three grand slams and replaced Rafael Nadal as the world number one.
Kenya's distance runner Vivian Cheruiyot, who won the 5k and 10k gold medals at the World Championships, was awarded sportswoman of the year, while Rory McIlroy picked up breakthrough of the year award.
FC Barcelona were team of the year and American surfer Kelly Slater picked up his fourth award for action sportsperson of the year.
The Laureus awards, started by Nelson Mandela, are now in their 13th year.
