Roger Federer insists that he is not planning on quitting tennis anytime soon.

Roger Federer has insisted that he has no plans to retire from tennis anytime soon.

The 31-year-old, who has won 17 Grand Slam titles, heads into next week's French Open looking to win for the second time at Roland Garros.

Despite being one of the oldest players near the top of the ATP rankings, world number three Federer is convinced that he still has something to offer.

"As long as I enjoy playing then why stop doing something that I enjoy doing," he told Sky Sports News. "I'd be retired way too early. I'd love to do this for a really, really long time.

"Unfortunately it comes to an end at some point. I still think I can compete at the highest levels. We'll see how things go."

Federer's only previous triumph at the French Open came back in 2009 when he defeated Robin Soderling in the final.
