David Ferrer has beaten world number two Rafael Nadal in straight sets to proceed to the Mubadala World Championship final.
The Spanish number two jumped four games ahead of his compatriot in the opening set, before Nadal was able to pull three back. However, it was too little, too late for the Majorca star as Ferrer held on to take the set with a comfortable 6-3 margin.
Despite several more closely contested games from Nadal, Ferrer once against broke ahead to a four-game lead in the second set.
While Nadal broke back to close his lead to just two games, the Valencian was able to see out the second with a 6-2 win.
Ferrer is now scheduled to meet world number one Novak Djokovic in the final tomorrow, after his win over Roger Federer.
