British number two Josh Goodall has admitted that financial concerns could lead him to retire from professional tennis.
The 27-year-old is currently ranked at number 232 in the world, but he has thrown his future in the game into doubt.
"If I don't see myself getting closer to the top 150 by next summer I will take a look at what I want to get out of this," he told reporters.
According to the BBC, Goodall's parents have remortgaged their house on a number of occasions to help fund his tennis development.
Goodall has qualified for the first round of the US Open on just one occasion.
