World number one Andy Murray has withdrawn from an exhibition match ahead of Wimbledon due to a hip problem.
The Scotsman, who is due to begin the defence of his title at the All England Club next week, was scheduled to face Lucas Pouille at the Hurlingham Club today, but as a precaution has opted to sit out.
A statement read: "Andy Murray will not play an exhibition match at Hurlingham today as a precaution because of a sore hip."
It is not yet known whether the 30-year-old, who has three Grand Slam titles to his name, will be able to feature in his other scheduled match this Friday.
Murray has not had the best preparation for Wimbledon as he was knocked out in the first round at Queen's last week.
