Asia's most successful tennis player Li Na is reportedly planning to announce her retirement tomorrow due to injuries.

Two-time Grand Slam winner Li Na is reportedly planning to announce her retirement from playing due to injury woes.

The Chinese pro, who is currently number six in the world rankings, has not played since getting knocked out of Wimbledon in a third-round defeat to Barbora Zahlavova-Strycova in June.

A number of media outlets in China, including broadcasters CCTV-5, are reporting that Li will confirm her retirement tomorrow, stating that knee problems are preventing her from continuing to compete at an elite level.

It has also been reported by SINA Sports that Li's management company IMG will hold a press conference tomorrow in the sportswoman's hometown of Wuhan to confirm the news.

Li is Asia's most successful tennis player after becoming the first to win a Grand Slam singles title in 2011 at the French Open.

The 32-year-old, who was due to return to action at the WTA Wuhan Open next week, also won the Australian Open earlier this year.
