Andy Murray says that it took time to "get over" his semi-final defeat to Novak Djokovic in the Australian Open.

Andy Murray has revealed that it took him a while to "get over" his Australian Open semi-final defeat to 2012 champion Novak Djokovic.

The British number one failed to overcome the successful Serbian last month, but believes that a Grand Slam title is just around the corner.

"I made a big improvement in Australia," said Murray. "I've got a new coach (Ivan Lendl), I only spent five or six days with him in Australia and I improved.

"I'm going to win [a major]. I'm not saying I'm going to win six. But if I can get a few I can be remembered in the same breath as those guys.

"I woke up the next four or five nights after [the semi-final] thinking about it, thinking I could have done better. It takes a little while to get over it. It was once I took three or four days off and I got home that I had a few problems and the body started hurting."

The Scotsman has reached three Grand Slam finals in as many years, but fell at the final hurdle in each tournament.
