Andy Murray has declared himself pleased with his performance against Dominic Thiem in the Miami Open, having recovered from a sluggish start to advance through to the semi-final stage of the competition.
The British number one had to battle back from a set behind against his highly-rated opponent, eventually coming out on top 3-6 6-4 6-1 to set up a meeting with Tomas Berdych.
"I was getting myself into break-point positions and it is a fine line between going for winners and trying to finish the point and making your opponent play," Murray told Sky Sports News. "Being a good match player is understanding when to go for your shots and when to back off a little bit."
The final-four encounter between the 27-year-old and Berdych will be their first since a lively Australian Open semi-final affair earlier this year, which was blighted by Murray's fiancee Kim Sears seemingly launching a torrent of abuse in the direction of the Czech star.
