Rafael Nadal has described his 69-minute defeat of Lleyton Hewitt as "a solid match".
The world number one won 32 of 51 points to claim a 6-1 6-3 victory over the two-time Grand Slam champion, earning himself a place in the third round of the Miami Masters.
"I think I played a solid match without many mistakes," Nadal told reporters. "I tried all the time to play the logical shot.
"In general, I have to be very happy. I think I did what I had to do today."
Nadal will now face Denis Istomin, who beat Dmitry Tursunov 6-7 6-0 6-3 in round two.
