Marin Cilic has recorded a straight-sets victory over David Goffin at the Paris Masters to guarantee his place at the ATP Tour Finals.
The big-serving Croatian ran out a 6-3 7-6 winner against the Belgian, who is now unable to qualify for the end-of-season event in London.
Cilic has enjoyed a strong second half to 2016 and his form continued on Thursday as he broke Goffin's serve three times during the opening set.
The former US Open champion had only ever taken one set off Goffin in three previous meetings but he fired down seven aces in the second to complete an impressive win.
Cilic will now face either Novak Djokovic or Grigor Dimitrov in the quarter-finals.
