Novak Djokovic is into to the third round at the Paris Masters following a straight-sets win over Philipp Kohlschreiber this evening.
It looked like it would be a quick night's work for the world number one when Djokovic quickly opened up a 5-1 lead over the German in the opening set.
However, Kohlschreiber got a break back against the Serb while he was serving to wrap up the set, but it only delayed the inevitable, as Djokovic saw it out next time around.
The Wimbledon champion was on the attack again at the start of the second, returning strongly to get a break on the board in the opening game.
Kohlschreiber pressed hard late on to try to get the break back, taking a couple of his opponent's service games to deuce with his dominant backhand, but he could not bring up a chance to level the set.
As a result, Djokovic was able to comfortably serve out the match, setting up a third-round meeting with either Gael Monfils or John Isner.
